C.W. Post 50th Anniversary Celebration and Dedication of Kahn Alumni Hall
C.W.
Post Campus to Celebrate Golden Anniversary (2004-2005)
Plan to join us from September 2004 through October 2005 as we celebrate
the 50th anniversary of the founding of the C.W. Post Campus of
Long Island University. The theme of the year-long celebration is
"Celebrating 50 Years of Pioneer Spirit."
The
50th Anniversary Committee is planning several special events to
celebrate this monumental occasion in our campus history. We are
proud that the C.W. Post Campus currently serves 13,000 full - and
part - time students and is the alma mater to more than 90,000 alumni.
Some
of the events that we are planning are a special homecoming, alumni
reunions, a lecture series, a winter concert, and a documentary
film of campus history. History lectures will focus on the great
American breakfast cereal inventor - C.W.
Post - for whom our campus is named - as well as his daughter
Marjorie Merriweather
Post, heiress to the Post Cereal fortune.
