Information for Transfer Students

All prospective transfer students must request official transcripts from each previously attended college. Students entering with an Associate’s degree will receive credit for all courses up to a maximum of 72 credits including grades of "D". For students who have not received an Associate’s degree, all courses with grades of C- or higher will be accepted - - up to 72 credits from all 2-year schools and 96 credits from 4-year schools. All students will be required to complete at least 32 credits in residency at C.W. Post in order to receive a Bachelor’s degree. Please note not all accepted credits may be applicable to your chosen major. Academic counselors will make every effort to be flexible with the application of transfer credits.

All first-semester transfer students will be permitted to register; however, all transcripts must be received before registration for the second semester. Any questions pertaining to credit evaluations can be directed to the Transfer Center at (516) 299-3222.
