Student Responsibilities

While your academic counselor is here to assist and guide you throughout your academic career at C.W. Post, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that all degree requirements are met.

If you can answer "yes" to the following questions, you are an informed and responsible student.

  1. Do you know how many credits are required for your degree?
  2. Do you know how many credits you will have to complete each semester in order to graduate on time?
  3. Do you have a copy of your plan of study for your major?
  4. Do you review your plan of study with your counselor every semester when you register?
  5. Do you come to your advisement appointments prepared?
  6. Do you know the pre-requisites required for the courses in your major?
  7. Do you make an appointment with your advisor early in the registration period?
  8. Do you ensure that all required documentation is complete and handed in to the appropriate office?
  9. Do you handle academic matters yourself rather than ask others (parents, friends, etc.) to do it for you?

If you answered "no" to any of the above questions and are in need of assistance, please contact your academic counselor for information.
