Where is the C.W. Post Campus located?
The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is located on 307 beautiful acres in Brookville New York, on the north shore of Long Island. The campus is set in the idyllic neighborhood known as the "Gold Coast," an historic suburban community that has been the subject of popular novels and major motion pictures. The campus is just 50 minutes away from the excitement of New York City.

What Academic documents do you need from me?
For all Undergraduate students: (THOSE APPLYING TO A BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAM)
- Minimum acceptable TOEFL score: 527 (197 computer based, 71 internet based) or minimum IELTS score: 5.5.
- Official transcripts from your High School or University. Transcripts must be in English or officially translated into English. Ask your institution to send it directly to us.
- Personal statement
For all Graduate Students: (THOSE APPLYING TO A MASTER'S OR DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAM)
- Minimum acceptable TOEFL score: 530 (213 computer based, 79 internet based) or minimum IELTS score: 6.5.
- Official transcripts from your University. Transcripts must be in English or officially translated into English. Ask your institution to send it directly to us.
- Personal statement
- 2 letters of recommendation are required of most graduate applicants. Three letters of recommendation are required for the Clinical Psychology doctoral program, the Master of Social Work and the Library Science master's degree program.
- GRE or GMAT scores are required for certain programs as described below:
a. GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
Results of the general GRE exam are required for students applying to Biology, Psychology (M.A.), Environmental Studies, History, Music, Music Education, and Speech Pathology. Both the general and subject GRE are required for students applying to the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology.
b. GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)
Results of the GMAT are required for students applying to all M.B.A. programs and the Accounting and Taxation programs.
c. Portfolio All graduate applicants for Art (M.A. or M.F.A. programs), Art Education, Art Therapy, and Interactive Multimedia Arts must submit a portfolio in order to be considered for admission.

Are undergraduate international applicants required to submit SAT results?
International students whose native language is English, or who will complete four years of high school in the United States, are required to submit official SAT results.
Can my TOEFL requirement be waived?
International students whose native language is English, or who have attended a school where the medium of instruction is English, may have the TOEFL requirement waived. The waiver is determined on an individual basis following a review of the student’s application.
Can I send my official secondary school/university records to your offices directly?
All academic records should be sent directly by the previous school attended. If a student wishes to submit transcripts on behalf of his/her previous institution, they must be sent in a sealed envelope to International Admissions.
What are C.W. Post’s application deadlines?
C.W. Post offers rolling admissions for most programs. However, International Students should apply by November 1st for the Spring semester and July 1st for the Fall semester. In addition, certain graduate programs have application deadlines. For students wishing to live on-campus, it is recommended that you submit your application by March 1 for the Fall semester.

How long does the application process take?
As soon as we receive all the required academic documentation, we will review it or send it to the appropriate academic department for review. Aside from programs with specific application deadlines or portfolio/interview requirements, the academic review process is generally completed within three weeks.
Are scholarships available for international students?
Academic scholarships are available for all eligible International Students. Please visit our Scholarships page for more information. Note: First year Bachelor’s degree students whose TOEFL requirement is waived must earn an SAT score of 1010 (or 1520 New SAT) or higher for scholarship eligibility, with a minimum verbal score of 430.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
All graduate and undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for scholarship eligibility once a complete application is submitted. There is no separate scholarship application.
How large is C.W. Post’s international population?
Currently, more than 600 international students from 50 countries attend C.W. Post campus. Our entire student population is over 8,400 total students (this includes undergraduate and graduate students).
What is the student/faculty ratio?
The student/faculty ratio is 12:1, giving students excellent access to professors and allowing professors to know students by name and face.
Do you offer summer/winter courses?
Yes we do. Consult the semester schedules to see when they begin/end.
Can I have a car on campus?
Absolutely! We have parking lots for students. And for those students who don’t have a car, we have a bus that directly connects you with the train to New York City. Please see Student Services for more information.

How do I get my student VISA? 5 steps:
Once you are accepted for academic study, the admissions office will let you know what documents, if any, are missing for us to draft the I20.
- The International Student Services Office reviews financial documents.
- Submit your $200 tuition deposit.
- Once your I-20 application is approved, the International Student Services office will draft your I-20 and it will be sent to you via express mail.
- You then make an appointment with the American Embassy in your country to appear for your visa interview. You will be required to pay the SEVIS fee before you appear at the American Embassy, though you may make your appointment to appear at the Embassy prior to paying the fee. Information regarding the payment of the SEVIS fee will be included within your I-20 packet, but we recommend you visit www.fmjfee.com to learn more.
- Appear at your appointment with the American Embassy in your country. Be sure to bring all of the following documentation that applies to you:
- Your Official SEVIS form I-20
- Proof of payment of SEVIS fee
- A completed non-immigrant visa application
- The appropriate visa application fee (consult the consulate)
- A valid passport
- Acceptance letter and any scholarship letters from CW Post
- Transcripts and diplomas from previous schools
- TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, SAT scores
- Evidence of financial ability (bank statements, affidavits)
- Evidence of social and economic ties to home country
- Proof of dependents and their relationship to student (if F-2 visas are required
What documents do you need from me in order to issue me a SEVIS form I-20?
- I-20 Form Application
- Sponsor's Declaration for Free Room and Board (If you plan to live off campus with someone who is providing you with free room and board)
- Transfer Recommendation Form (if you are already studying in the US on an F-1 visa)
- Current and original bank statements in your sponsors name.
- $200 tuition deposit.
