Transferability of Long Island University/C.W. Post Credits

The academic programs of Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus are approved by the New York State Educational Department and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. S.C.A.L.E. coursework completed with a grade of "C" or better is generally transferable to other institutions of higher learning in the United States. Upon completion of courses in the S.C.A.L.E. Program, students transfer college credits to another institution by asking the C.W. Post Campus to forward an official transcript. Official transcripts of record may be requested by completing a transcript form available in your Guidance office or by writing to the Records Office, Long Island University / C.W. Post Campus, 720 Northern Blvd., Brookville, NY 11548-1300. There is a $5.00 charge per transcript. Please make check or money order payable to: C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. Add your social security number to the top or bottom left of the payment.

Although C.W. Post credits earned through the S.C.A.L.E. Program have been widely transferable to many institutions, all colleges and universities do not handle credit transfer the same way. The vast majority of schools have recognized coursework for credit or for exemption, but not for both. A very few refuse to recognize any college credits that were not earned on their campuses. It is the students responsibility to check transferability of credit with the receiving institution.
