What are the benefits of the Joint Admissions Program?

The Joint Admissions Program introduces you to the C.W. Post Campus community and provides you with the following services:

  • Up to 72 credits in transfer.
  • On-site academic counseling. C.W. Post academic counselors meet with you on the Suffolk County Community College campus every semester. They help you choose your courses and keep you up-to-date on major requirements in your four-year area of study.
  • C.W. Post I.D. card.
  • Priority on-campus housing if requested prior to May 1st for the Fall semester, and December 1st for the Spring Semester.
  • Invitations to C.W. Post Campus programs, activities, and events.

How do I become a Joint Admissions student?

  • Indicate your interest by checking the appropriate box on the Suffolk County Community College Application.
  • If you’re already an SCCC student, you are eligible to participate as long as you have not completed more than 24 credits.

Are there special requirements for Joint Admissions students?

  • You don’t have to take any additional courses other than the usual requirements for your program at Suffolk County Community College.
  • You will be required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30 when you transfer to C.W. Post.

Can I change my mind?

  • Yes. Participation in the program does not require you to transfer to C.W. Post when you graduate from Suffolk County Community College.

Is there any cost involved?

  • No. There is no cost for participation in the Joint Admissions Program.

Are there special scholarships for Joint Admissions students?

  • Yes. These scholarships vary according to your cumulative grade point average at the time of transfer to C.W. Post.
