ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE COURSES

40-HOUR AND 30-HOUR PROGRAMS:
Courses are offered at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels to non-English speaking adults.  These courses are designed to improve the speech, reading and writing of adults whose native language is not English.  Four skill areas—conversation (listening and speaking), grammar, reading and writing--will be covered at the appropriate level and with the specific functional needs of the students in mind.

All students who register will be tested to determine the most appropriate level of instruction.

All courses are taught by trained professionals in a positive atmosphere at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus and/or at our new Glen Cove site.

Courses meet for 10 weeks in the Spring and in the Fall and students have a choice of attending a 40-hour program in the evenings or a 30-hour program on Saturdays.

You may register in-person, by phone, or by mail.  If you register by phone or mail, confirmation of your registration and classroom assignment will be mailed to you upon receipt of your registration materials. You may call us anytime at (516) 299-2236 or (516) 299-4002.  Please feel free to leave a message on voice mail, if we are not immediately available.
