Dr. Maturo has investigated the mechanism of insulin action at the cell membrane level for thirty years. He has presented the results of his investigations in many symposia and in major journals. His interests have been in the area of biochemistry, emphasizing cellular metabolism. These interests have been extended into his outside interest of participating in triathlons of which he has completed over 100. He has used much of the present day knowledge of nutrition, through its impact on cellular metabolism, to increase stamina in endurance requiring athletic endeavors.
