The Political Science Association
This organization seeks to present broad and diverse political views through a publication called Perspectives. Perspectives is the C.W. Post Journal of Political Science. In Perspectives any individual may submit an article for publication, as long as the content expressed is of a political nature. Perspectives is published once a semester.
Perspectives is always looking for students to become staff and/or writers. No previous experience is necessary. All that is needed is a commitment to the improvement of the paper.
The Political Science Association is also attempting to develop a Mock Trial Competition. The Competition will present students with the ability to understand the workings of a courtroom from a first-hand experience. Students will participate as lawyers and witnesses. Judges and Lawyers will be invited to participate in the conference as judges in the cases. The Mock Trial Competition will need interested students to help with the organization and implementation.
Any interested student, regardless of major or discipline, is invited to participate in any event. Take a look under Department News for upcoming events and those past. For more information attend a meeting or stop by the Political Science Department

Pre-law Association: Faculty Advisor - Pre-law Advisor Dr. Jeremy Buchman
Many political science students are interested in pursuing law as their profession. The Pre-Law Association was created to help students learn more about this field. This organization attempts to provide students with information regarding the legal profession as well as legal education.
The Association makes trips to Washington D.C., visits courts and law schools. The members also go to Albany to meet with government officials. The goal is to provide students with the knowledge of law as a discipline and as a profession.
The Association in conjunction with Professor Buchman, the C.W. Post Campus Pre-law Advisor, also arranges a Pre-Law night for students. This is an evening where students have the opportunity to speak with lawyers and C.W. Post Alumni attending law schools.
All students, from various majors and disciplines, are invited to attend any of the events held by the Pre-Law Association. The Association also invites all interested individuals to join and participate actively. For more information students can attend meetings or stop by the Political Science Department.
