Study Abroad in Beijing
The Foreign Affairs College (FAC) at Beijing, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, is an institution of higher learning that trains students in the fields of diplomacy, foreign affairs and international studies. The FAC was founded in 1955 upon the initiative of the late Premier Zhou Enlai. At present, the college has 1,100 students. There are about 200 full-time instructors who constitute the main body of the teaching staff. In addition to offering basic courses, the FAC invites Chinese senior diplomats with rich experience, as well as experts and scholars with high academic attainments, to give lectures on various topics. In addition, the college invites about 20 foreign experts, teachers, prominent international figures, ambassadors to China and well-known scholars to participate in the curriculum and to deliver speeches. The semester-long Beijing program enrolls 15-20 students and includes 20 days of extensive touring of four to five important Chinese cities.
