Psychology Club
The Psychology Club at CW Post is a great way to learn more about psychology, as well as to get to know other psychology majors.
The Psychology Club organizes different activities throughout the year. In the past, these have included fund-raising activities for the club, trips into NYC to volunteer with groups working with the homeless, and trips to hospitals to help read to children
In addition to this, the Psychology Club takes a trip each year to the Eastern Psychological Association conference. This is a great way to get to know psychology majors from around the country, and find out even more about the field of psychology. For more information about EPA click here.
The club generally meets each Wednesday during the semester, at either 4pm or 5pm (keep an eye out for signs around the Psychology Department).
For more information about the Psychology Club, contact Dr. Ethel Matin, who is the club’s faculty advisor.
Psi Chi
In addition to the Psychology Club, CW Post has a chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology. In order to join Psi Chi, you must:
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Have a minimum GPA within Psychology of 3.0
- Have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in Psychology courses (courses that have a PSY code)
Keep an eye out in the early part of the fall and spring semesters for application materials. These are generally found on the Psychology bulletin board on the first floor of the Life Sciences building – by the door to the building under the “Infirmary” sign.
