Financial
Markets Center
The intent
of the research center is to create an environment that mimics
the real life investing and money management situations that students
may potentially encounter. Students will be responsible for all
aspects of money management, from fund inception to continuous
management to accountability. Given present market conditions,
students will have access to live information in order to choose
among alternate risky investments. Live orders will be placed
for the purchase or sale of securities. Continuous benchmarking
will be made, as students will be forced to account for their
relative performance.
This will also provide
students with excellent extracurricular work that can only aid
in future employment. Further, as part of a CFA path/curriculum
for students, this establishes an applied link to the theoretical
courses already being taught.
