G. Glenn Baigent Ph.D.
Dr. G. Glenn Baigent is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Finance at The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Technical University of Nova Scotia, an M.B.A. (St. Mary's University), and a Ph.D. in Finance (Kent State University). He has been the recipient of numerous awards for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research has been published in Journal of Alternative Investments, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Eastern Economic Journal, Management Research News, International Journal of Comparative Management, and Ergonomics. Dr. Baigent also serves as the Director of the Financial Markets Center.
Carol Boyer, Ph.D.
Carol Marie Boyer received her B.B.A. from Trinity University, MBA from Texas State University and Ph.D. in Finance from Florida State University with a support area in Econometrics.
Her research interests include Initial Public Offerings, Exchange Traded Funds, Special Purpose Acquisition Corporations, Analysts Forecasts, as well as Derivatives.
She has taught courses in Venture Capital and Private Equity, Financial Markets and Institutions, Corporate Finance, International Finance, Econometrics, and Business Mathematics
Her refereed publications include articles in The Cambridge Journal of Economics, Advances in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Journal of Business, Industry and Economics, Derivatives Use, Trading and Regulation. Managerial Finance. Southern Business and Economics Journal, as well as the Decision Sciences Institute Conference Proceedings. She also has a chapter in the book Stock Exchanges, IPO’s and Mutual Funds and another book chapter in Pricing and Performance of IPO’s in the US.
She has presented research papers at the European Financial Management Association, Eastern Finance Association, Decision Sciences Institute, Financial Management Association, and the ABN AMRO International IPO Conference.
Lorene Hiris, D.P.S.
Lorene Hiris is a full professor of finance in College of Management at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, where she teaches graduate courses in corporation finance and international financial markets, both on campus and at the corporate headquarters of Verizon, Northrop Grumman, and Symbol Technologies. In addition, she regularly teaches in Europe, mainly in Switzerland and Austria. She also served as Chair of the Department of Finance. Her research affiliation is with the Economic Cycle Research Institute (ECRI), where she is often a contributing editor to their publications, U.S. Cyclical Outlook and International Cyclical Outlook. Her research expertise is related to the business, inflation, and financial market cycles. Her articles have been published in the International Journal of Forecasting, the International Review of Financial Analysis, and Research Strategies. Her current research efforts are focused on ethics education. Recently, she has received a Long Island University grant to develop a web-based program, to deliver ethics across the curriculum. She is co-author with Gina Poncini of several conference paper analyzing the CEO letters that accompany the annual reports of securities brokerage firms in the U.S., comparing the way they treat issues such as ethics, scandals and corporate governance before and after the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Vincent G. Massaro, Ph.D.
Vincent G. Massaro is Professor of Finance in the College of Management at C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. He is a Life Member of Clare Hall College, University of Cambridge, where he was a Visiting Fellow in 2001. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Business Disciplines and is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Commerce and Management. He is a former Chairman of The Forecasters Club and a member of the DiGamma Honor Society.
Earlier, Dr. Massaro was a Visiting Professor in Money and Banking at Vassar College and an Adjunct Professor at Pace University. He served as Senior Economist at the Conference Board for more than 20 years and was also Economic Affairs Officer in the Finance Section of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. In 1982, he was chief economic advisor and special assistant to the Hon. Nicholas F. Brady in the U.S. Senate. During 1963 – 1965 and in 2001, Dr. Massaro was a Visitor to the Faculty of Economics and Politics at the University of Cambridge. Dr. Massaro was also recipient of a NSF-NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Science at Cambridge. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, and his B.S. in Economics from Canisius College.
He has made presentations around the world and has written many articles and books. Since arriving at C.W. Post in 1993, Dr. Massaro has written numerous articles and has given presentations on topics in finance and the global economic environment of business in a wide range of forums. He has also served as Chair of the Department of Finance and on various committees in the Department of Finance, the College of Management, and Long Island University.
Ronald Sverdlove, Ph.D.
Ronald Sverdlove received his A.B. in Mathematics from Princeton University. He then attended Stanford University, where he received a Ph.D. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Music.
After teaching Mathematics at Southern Illinois University, the Claremont Colleges, and the University of Notre Dame, he joined RCA Laboratories (later Sarnoff Corporation) as a Member of the Technical Staff. Upon leaving Sarnoff, he studied Finance at Rutgers Business School, Newark and New Brunswick, earning the Master of Quantitative Finance and the Ph.D. in Management, specializing in Finance.
He has taught Finance at Rutgers and both Finance and Management Science in the College of Business Administration of Rider University. Dr. Sverdlove has published twelve papers in Mathematics and one in Finance. His research interests are in Fixed Income Securities, Empirical and Theoretical Corporate Finance, and Credit Risk Modeling.
Zhaohui Zhang, Ph.D.
Dr. Zhaohui Zhang is Assistant Professor of Finance in the College of Management at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. He received both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Finance from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Previously, he spent a year visiting the College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. He also worked as a quantitative analyst in the asset management industry in San Francisco. His research papers have appeared in the International Review of Economics and Finance, Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, etc. His papers have been presented in more than ten national and international finance conferences in recent years. He has also received research grant from the Long Island University. Dr. Zhang currently serves as the faculty advisor of the C.W. Post Chapter of the Financial Management Association International (FMA).
