College of Management: An Overview

Overview:
College of Management

The College of Management prepares graduates for successful careers in government, business, accounting, criminal justice, social work and public and health care administration. Comprising three outstanding schools - Professional Accountancy, Business and Public Service - it prepares students to perform competently, ethically and professionally in the public and private sectors.  Home to the Financial Markets Center, the Center for Supply Chain Leadership, the Long Island Women's Institute, the Tax Institute, the Centers on Aging and Management Analysis, C.W. Post's College of Management is widely recognized as a valuable resource for research and information in the tri-state area.

The College of Management Business Program is accredited by the prestigious AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in finance, international business, marketing, management and management information systems. The College also offers the coveted Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with classes conveniently offered on weekday evenings and Saturdays.

An integral part of the Business Program, the School of Professional Accountancy was the first in the nation to establish a separate professional school specializing in the study of accounting. Many schools across the nation have since followed our lead. The school offers a bachelor's and a master's degree in accountancy, a master's degree in taxation as well as five-year accelerated B.S./M.S. in Accountancy and a B.S./M.B.A. in Accountancy. Many students are placed in accounting jobs through our career placement services while pursing their degree studies.

The School of Public Service places an emphasis on both policy analysis and public management. The School offers an up-to-date undergraduate and graduate curriculum and incorporates the most advanced ideas on a broad spectrum of issues concerning criminal justice, security administration, health care and public administration, and social work. Our M.P.A. in Public Administration is the only degree program on Long Island accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The B.S. in Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
