Overview:
College of Management
The College of Management prepares graduates for
successful careers in government, business, accounting, criminal
justice, social work and public and health care administration.
Comprising three outstanding schools - Professional Accountancy,
Business and Public Service - it prepares students
to perform competently, ethically and professionally in the public
and private sectors. Home to the Financial Markets
Center, the Center for Supply Chain Leadership, the Long Island
Women's Institute, the Tax Institute, the Centers on Aging and Management
Analysis, C.W. Post's College of Management is widely recognized
as a valuable resource for research and information in the tri-state
area.
The College of Management Business Program is accredited
by the prestigious AACSB International - the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business. Students can earn a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration with majors in finance, international
business, marketing, management and management information systems.
The College also offers the coveted Master of Business Administration
(M.B.A.) degree with classes conveniently offered on weekday evenings
and Saturdays.
An integral part of the
Business Program, the School of Professional Accountancy was the
first in the nation to establish a separate professional school
specializing in the study of accounting. Many schools across the
nation have since followed our lead. The school offers a bachelor's
and a master's degree in accountancy, a master's degree in taxation
as well as five-year accelerated B.S./M.S. in Accountancy and a B.S./M.B.A. in Accountancy. Many
students are placed in accounting jobs through our career placement
services while pursing their degree studies.
The School of Public Service places an emphasis on
both policy analysis and public management. The School offers an
up-to-date undergraduate and graduate curriculum and incorporates
the most advanced ideas on a broad spectrum of issues concerning
criminal justice, security administration, health care and public
administration, and social work. Our M.P.A. in Public Administration
is the only degree program on Long Island accredited by the National
Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The
B.S. in Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work
Education.
