How to Plan an Event at the C.W. Post Campus

The following are guidelines for planning an event at the C.W. Post Campus. The procedures are different for internal departments versus outside organizations/companies. Please refer to the procedures that apply to you.

IMPORTANT!!-Submission of an event request does not confirm your reservation.

You will receive a written event confirmation if your request is approved. Until you receive a written confirmation your request is pending. Please plan accordingly.

If your event request is for an event taking place in this current week, please call 516-299-2781.

C.W. Post Campus Community (Internal Departments):

The Office of Conference Services schedules all non-academic, non-student related events. We offer "one-stop shopping" to the Campus community. What this means is that all of the needs that you may have for your event, whether it be a one-hour meeting or a week-long conference, can be handled through one department. Space(s) required, food, custodial, audio/visual, facilities and public safety services can all be scheduled through Conference Services. All requests for space and/or services should be made via the Event Request Form.

External Organizations/Companies:

The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University hosts many events for external organizations and companies. Some of these events include company picnics, summer camps, workshops, conferences and receptions. Our Campus, with its beautiful grounds and historic buildings, is a perfect setting for these types of events.

A Letter of Intent is required by the Office of Conference Services in order to consider and process an event held by an external organization or business on the C.W. Post Campus. This letter can be emailed (conference.services@cwpost.liu.edu) or faxed (516-299-4041) to the Office of Conference Services. The Letter of Intent should be on company letterhead and should include a brief description of what the company does, what the nature of the event is, contact information, the type of space(s) required, dates, times, number of attendees and any services required, including housing, food, audio/visual needs as well as any other relevant information required for your event. Once this letter is received by the Office of Conference Services, your event will be considered and you will be contacted as to the feasibility of your event and further information may be requested.
