The C.W. Post Emergency Alert System
The C.W. Post Emergency Alert System has been developed to instantly and simultaneously contact C.W. Post students, faculty and staff in the event of an emergency. Should an emergency occur, members of the campus community who have registered with the system can receive notices by several methods, including:

  • Text messages (SMS) to mobile phones and PDAs
  • Voice calls to mobile, home or office numbers
  • E-mails to C.W. Post accounts
  • Instant messages (AOL, MSN and Yahoo)
  • Faxes to office fax lines

You may choose any or all of the above contact methods, and can choose the order in which they are used – for example, voice call first, then text, then IM, then e-mail. However, the C.W. Post Department of Public Safety may choose a different order if necessary, depending on the nature of the emergency.

About the Emergency Alert System
The C.W. Post Campus contracted in July 2007 with 3n (National Notification Network) for the InstaCom emergency notification system. There are a number of good mass notification systems available to colleges and universities. A committee of public safety experts within the C.W. Post administration concluded that the InstaCom system best suits the needs of our campus.
