Department of Educational Technology
MISSION STATEMENT
The programs in the Department of Educational Technology at the
C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University are designed to prepare
"change agent leaders" in educational settings who understand
and apply technology in ways that positively affect teaching and
learning. Educational systems must and will (with leadership) shift
from a teacher centered, didactic model to one that focuses sharply
upon the learner. This can be purposely enhanced through the thoughtful,
planned, and purposeful use of information technologies at all levels
for all learners. Our goal is to create such changes using T.E.A.M.,
our cohort M.S. degree program, and the Electronic Educational Village
(EEV), the action arm that links us, our students, and the larger
learning communities around us (schools, libraries, museums, nature
preserves, businesses, etc.).
