When to Apply for Financial Assistance

Fall 2008 Entering New Freshman and Transfer Students

September 2007 - December 2007

For enrollment in September 2008 apply for admission. Submit the C.W. Post Preliminary Financial Aid Form to receive an estimated aid package. 

January 1, 2008 - March 1, 2008

Submit the 2008-09 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov  using code #002751. New York State residents should also complete the Tuition Assistance Program application using code #0403.  Students filing the FAFSA online can apply using the “TAP on the web” link.

March 2008 - April 2008

March 1 - C.W. Post mails out financial assistance packages on a rolling basis to all new freshman and new transfer aid applicants accepted for enrollment at C.W. Post.  Students must notify the campus in writing of their acceptance or rejection of the financial assistance package within the required response time.

May 1 - Decision Time

New Freshman and Transfer students need to submit a deposit to secure their spot in class and on-campus housing.

Continuing C.W. Post Students

January 1, 2008 - March 1, 2008

As a Continuing C.W. Post student complete and process the 2008-09 FAFSA no later than March 1, 2008 for financial assistance consideration in the upcoming 2008-09 academic year. All students can secure the FAFSA forms at the Office of Financial Assistance or may apply on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov . Please use code #002751 on your FAFSA to designate C.W. Post as a recipient institution. New York State residents should also complete the Tuition Assistance Program application using code #0403. Students filing the FAFSA on-line can apply using the "TAP on the web" link.

May 2008 - August 2008

Campus mails out financial assistance packages to upperclassmen and graduate students. The staff of the Financial Assistance Office will be available throughout the summer to discuss your financial aid, your plan for paying your Fall 2008 tuition bill, (which is due in August) and alternative payment options.
