Students pursuing degree programs in the Department of Biomedical
Sciences are requested to complete a separate application for admission
to the respective undergraduate degree program in addition to their
Admission Application with the C.W. Post Campus and are to forward
it to:

Completed applications must be returned to the Program Director
with official transcript(s) from all colleges or universities attended
and with two letters of recommendations preferably from former science
professors. Both transfer students and starting sophomores at the
C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University must follow these requirements.
A separate application for admission to the campus must be submitted
to the Admissions Office of the campus in addition to the admission
application of the Department.
Applicants to the Departmental Programs are contacted for a personal
interview. Following the interview and admission requirement required
of each candidate, the academic requirements are pursued.
Students are expected to maintain a grade point average for a 2.75
(4.0 is an A grade) in all pre-requisite courses whether they are
C.W. Post students or transfer students into the Department.
The pre-requisite courses for the Major (Clinical Laboratory Science,
Cytotechnology or Biomedical Technology) include:
- 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in the Biological
Sciences. (One course must include Microbiology and Immunology)
- 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in Chemistry
(Inorganic/General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and/or Biochemistry)
- 1 semester of college Mathematics
