C.W. Post & Nassau Community College Joint Nutrition Program

Students who earn an Associate in Science degree in Food and Nutrition at Nassau Community College can seamlessly transfer their credits to the Nutrition Department at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. Due to an articulation agreement signed by both schools it is possible for students in four years to earn both an Associate’s degree from Nassau Community College and then complete their course work at C.W. Post and receive a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition. The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition program at the C.W. Post Campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education of the American Dietetic Association.

The C.W. Post curriculum blends science-oriented courses with a liberal arts foundation. Students take classes in biology, chemistry and statistics and master such subjects as normal nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, institutional food service management; cultural and social aspects of food; energy and exercise; and food technology. Students are prepared for careers as nutritionists, wellness experts, sports nutritionists, medical nutrition therapists and community counselors.
