This one-week experiential immersion takes honors students from around the country to Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Acadia, The Everglades or other pristine natural sites for an exciting wilderness adventure.
- Lectures: Once a month faculty and students will meet for an integrated symposium on issues that cross the disciplines with guest speakers from political science, business, education and the arts.
- Field Trips: Visit the Pine Barrens watershed, National Seafront and other nature preserves, waste treatment and recycling plants as well as local businesses.
- Internships: Following freshman year, students participate in an internship on Long Island that will turn their core environmental education into practice. Placements might be in businesses, political offices, nature preserves, animal rescue organizations, farms, nurseries, fisheries or wineries.
Like other students in the Honors Program, Honors Green students will complete other academic requirements to graduate with an Honors diploma.
