On November 29, 1954 in the Great Hall, C.W. Post College is officially christened as cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post and her daughters (from left) Eleanor, Dina, and Adelaide unveil an oil painting of Mrs. Post’s father, Charles William Post. The first class of 148 students at C.W. Post College, paying $20 per credit, began day classes in September 1955.
