a ALA accredited library school or MA in history with an archival
concentration or archival management certificate; minimum two
years professional experience; strong public service orientation;
Preferred: previous experience in a special collection library;
familiarity with Encoded Archival Description (EAD); encoded text
application in general (SGML, XML, HTML) and MARC AMC format.
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to: thrive
in a busy department with multiple projects and deadlines; provide
reference assistance to a diverse group of in-house and external
researchers; maintain departmental records and statistics; participate
in collection development; recommend collection for arrangement
and description; make presentations that highlight the department's
collections; attend library and institution-wide meetings, including
exhibition planning.
Salary: Low $30s, commensurate with experience.
