VOIP Network Engineer
University Center

Position Description and Responsibilities: The VoIP Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the Voice over IP infrastructure throughout the entire University.  He/she will install and maintain VoIP Servers and applications including Call Manager and Unity Voicemail Servers, as well as maintain the integration with our legacy PBX system.  This position will assist in developing a complete backup and disaster recovery plan.  This position will be University wide and require travel to and from campuses when called upon.  This position will be reporting to the Director of Networking, Telecommunications and Infrastructure.
Qualifications: They must have strong communication skills, both written and oral, self motivation, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.  Network Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP is highly preferred.  The candidate must be on call and willing to work evenings and weekends if necessary.  The candidate should have knowledge of MS Active Directory/Unity Integration, experience using Cisco hardware 17XX, 37XX, 4500, 6500, MCS 7800 Servers, 7900 series IP Phones, WS-X6608, VG248 and associated modules such as FXO and FXS.  A detailed understanding of telecommunication practices as applicable to both traditional VoIP configurations is desirable.  Experience in Cisco IP Telephony system administration, configuration and implementation is desirable as well.

Assistant Director – The Learning Support Center
CW Post Campus

Position Description:  Primary responsibility is to assist the associate director with all phases of development, implementation, and support for the Program for Academic Success.  Advise PAS students in course selection, maintain accurate records, track progress, and if needed advocate on a student’s behalf.  Monitor the academic progress of PAS students.  Develop and conduct small workshops for students on college survival skills.  Serve as a referral agent to other campus services and facilitate communication between students and various campus offices.  Assist with Information/Interview sessions held for potential PAS students.  Represent the Learning Support Center at various on campus events such as Orientation, Enrollment Services Days, Open House Events, academic gatherings, Post Preview Days, etc.  Serve on campus communities when appropriate or when requested by the director or associate director who oversees PAS.  All other duties assigned by the director or associate director who oversees PAS.  This is a Professional Administrators’ Position, Union Local #3948.

Network Engineer – University Center
Position Description”  The Network Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the network infrastructure for the University Center, including all Switching, connectivity and Firewall maintenance.  The duties will also include network analysis, troubleshooting and performance training.  He/She will also be responsible for creating and maintaining complete documentation and network diagrams for the University Network Infrastructure.  This position will report to the Associate Director of Network Services at the CW Post/University Center campuses.
Qualifications and Skills:  Must have strong communication skills both written and oral.  Candidate must be self-motivated and be able to work independently or as part of a team.  Candidate will be on call and must be willing to work evenings and weekends if necessary.  Must be willing to travel to remote campuses if necessary.  Network certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP) is highly preferred.  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required.  Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocol.  Must have a broad understanding of networking technologies such as Layer2 and Layer3 Switching, most Routing protocols, STP and HSRP.  Ability to analyze network packet dumps using TCPDump, SNORT, IRIS and other open source tools.  Ability to detect anomalies via network logs and packet dumps.  Experience with Installation and Troubleshooting of Wi-Fi technologies.  Experience with Cisco PIX Firewalls highly preferred.  Must be detail oriented, as the candidate will be responsible for updating documentation as well as developing new documents and procedures (Microsoft Visio skills a plus).  Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize projects delegated by immediate supervisor.  Ability to adhere to policies and procedures with great detail in reporting.

Integrated Library System Administrator

Position Description:  Administers the Long Island University integrated library system supporting 5 active libraries.  Manage the steadily growing library database.  Provides general information technology support services for the staff of the libraries.  Manage, maintain and enhance all existing library web-based, digital and electronic projects, including our link resolver system.  Study information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new capabilities to improve library information access and usability.  Provides training for local library personnel.  Develops custom scripts to load and extract data.  Provide occasional help desk support for off-campus library patrons.

Community Integration Counselor
Position Description and Responsibilities: These candidates provide counseling sessions to survivors of traumatic brain injury and their families.  They assist the survivor to effectively manage the emotional difficulties with adjusting to and living in the community, assist with altered abilities and skills, the needs to revise long term expectations, and changing roles in relation to significant others. 
Qualifications: Licensed Psychiatrist/Psychologist/MSW, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, or Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology.  The candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience providing to individuals with traumatic brain injuries and their families. 

Sales Management Training Program, Enterprise
Position Description and Responsibilities: The candidate will learn all facets of how a small business operation is run.  From marketing and management to the financial and administrative functions of the business, the candidate will build long-term and loyal relationships with customers, accounts and co-workers.  Training begins as observational at a rental branch, and then, the candidate spends a week in corporate classroom training, and then the structured 9 month training program begins.
