Student Career Experience Program

Responsibilities: At the target position level you will be trained to serve as a technological consultant in the areas of inspection, intelligence, analysis and examination related to the importation of agriculture/commercial commodities. You will apply a wide range pf introduction of federal laws and agency regulations when determining the admissibility of agriculture commodities while preventing the introduction of harmful pets and diseases. Conducting visual, physical inspections of cargo, conveyances and passengers, data entry, sampling and other tasks. Successful students will be places in permanent positions upon completion of their qualifying courses work leading to a diploma and completing of at least 640 hours of work experience.
Qualifications: Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree seeking student in an accredited college, university or professional school. At least sixteen years of age, US Citizen, residency in the US for at least three years. Taking at least a half time course load as determined by the academic institution. Pursuing a major or 24 semester hours in : biological sciences, agriculture, botany, entomology, plant pathology, ecology, microbiology, natural resources, chemistry or closely related field. Background security investigation and drug testing are required.

Admissions Systems Information Manager – CRM Coordinator

Position Description: As a member of the Admissions Systems team, the Admissions Systems Information Manager – CRM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Admissions Office computer systems and related activities. This includes but is not limited to: PeopleSoft 8.9: Responsible for supporting the day to day operation, communication plans, maintenance and configuration of the newly installed PeopleSoft 8.9 Admissions module and integration/implementation and configuration of the CRM module for the C.W. Post Admissions Office and regional campuses to ensure the highest level of functionality. Administrative Assistant

Position Descriptions & Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of International Student. Services and Residence Life and performs duties as the Assistant to the Director. He/she is responsible for providing support and assistance to all full-time staff in both departments of International Student Services and Residence Life. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for facilitating the preparation of compliance documents and reports as required by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He/she is required to attend annual off-campus F-1 Visa Immigration Regulation training sessions. In addition, he/she is responsible for undertaking a variety of business tasks, including assisting in the management of the departmental budgets; processing personnel, financial and academic records; supervising all part-time student staff; and assisting with a growing number of departmental functions and events. Has the authority as a Designated School Official (DSO) pursuant to immigration regulations as granted by the Department of Homeland Security. Creates and prepares immigration documents and reports as required by USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Services), ICE (Immigration and Custom Enforcement), DHS (Department of Homeland Security), DOS (Department
of State), DOL (Department of Labor) and the University. Serves as the primary
contact person with partner agencies and overseas and/or local agents. Process
purchase orders, prepare contracts for orientation vendors, track budget
expenditures, and oversee management of the budget. Develops and administers
report and surveys, including but not limited to compliance with the Department of
Homeland Security, immigration regulations, SEVIS and academic progress
documents in accordance with immigration F-1 regulations and University
expectations. Coordinates and plans evening and weekend activities including
but not limited to: international student arrival day, orientation, international
education week, award dinners, alumni functions and other special events.
Responsible for receiving and solving student concerns regarding: immigration
status, employment needs, meal plan, and room concerns and all student related
questions. Prepares and maintains personnel records and files, including but not
limited to: processing contracts for full-time staff stipends for part-time staff,
announcement of position vacancy forms and monthly attendance records. Hires, provides supervision, maintain schedules and prepares payroll documents
for all student work-study and budget staff. Processes all international student
check-in documents, employment information, social security application forms,
and prepares drafts and letters on a daily basis on behalf of the campus. Interacts
with other departments to coordinate international student mailings to home,
email and residence halls. Represents the department at committee meetings,
campus-wide events and programs. Weekend and evening hours as needed and
assigned. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications: Required qualifications include but are not limited to:
exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to perform multiple
tasks and work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced setting; familiarity
with budget and accounting procedures. The candidate must posses a

Position Description & Responsibilities: General academic advisement and registration of a caseload of new and continuing students, responsible for advisement of undergraduate students during evening hours of the AAC (Tuesday and Wednesday until 6:30pm) assist with course selections and registration, assist students in the development of meaningful and educational plans and academic major selection which are compatible with their life goals. Maintain individual case load on AAC student database, responsible for file maintenance and organization of case load including updating grades, consistency and thoroughness of paperwork and documentation, completion and meeting deadlines for transfer of academic files to new departments, maintain and update personal advisement manual containing information on University and AAC policies and procedures, communicate via and check LIU email account at least two times each work day, develop and coordinate and lead assigned Specialization (TBD) and projects, activities and events related to that Specialization. Advocate and problem solve with faculty, administration and staff on student academic problems, issues and concerns, serve as a member of the Advisors Council (AC) and attend and participate in all meetings, activities and events of the Council. Attend and participate in all AAC meetings, activities and events, construct and submit Monthly Accomplishment log (MAL) to associate director of AAC, attend and participate in LIU Days, a.i.r Retreat, AAC Retreat, and Special Registration Days/ Events. Represent the AAC on any relevant University committees, AAC committees and professional association/organizations as needed or assigned. Required to work extended hours during peak registration periods and throughout the academic year as needed or assigned. Participate in yearly performance evaluation with associate director of AAC, adhere to all the policies, procedures and guidelines in the Academic and Instructional Resources policy manual. Other duties assigned by the associate director of AAC.
Qualifications: To perform this position successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelors degree required, masters degree strongly preferred in a discipline deemed appropriate by AAC Management. Proficiency with standard business application in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel and Outlook), academic advising higher education or post secondary experience, and excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Qualifications: This position requires a B.A. or B.S. degree with at least 3-years experience in design and production, particularly in desktop design, project management, and the administration of outside vendor contracts. Personal and Macintosh computer literacy in a network environment with a Windows base, including a minimum of intermediate-level proficiency in word processing, Quark XPRESS, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Services and Residence Life and performs duties as the Assistant to the Director. Administrative Assistant
International Student Services - CAMPUS: C.W. Post
Position Descriptions & Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of International Student. Services and Residence Life and performs duties as the Assistant to the Director. He/she is responsible for providing support and assistance to all full-time staff in both departments of International Student Services and Residence Life. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for facilitating the preparation of compliance documents and reports as required by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He/she is required to attend annual off-campus F-1 Visa Immigration Regulation training sessions. In addition, he/she is responsible for undertaking a variety of business tasks, including assisting in the management of the departmental budgets; processing personnel, financial and academic records; supervising all part-time student staff; and assisting with a growing number of departmental functions and events. Has the authority as a Designated School Official (DSO) pursuant to immigration regulations as granted by the Department of Homeland Security. Creates and prepares immigration documents and reports as required by USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Services), ICE (Immigration and Custom Enforcement), DHS (Department of Homeland Security), DOS (Department
of State), DOL (Department of Labor) and the University. Serves as the primary
contact person with partner agencies and overseas and/or local agents. Process
purchase orders, prepare contracts for orientation vendors, track budget
expenditures, and oversee management of the budget. Develops and administers
report and surveys, including but not limited to compliance with the Department of
Homeland Security, immigration regulations, SEVIS and academic progress
documents in accordance with immigration F-1 regulations and University
expectations. Coordinates and plans evening and weekend activities including
but not limited to: international student arrival day, orientation, international
education week, award dinners, alumni functions and other special events.
Responsible for receiving and solving student concerns regarding: immigration
status, employment needs, meal plan, and room concerns and all student related
questions. Prepares and maintains personnel records and files, including but not
limited to: processing contracts for full-time staff stipends for part-time staff,
announcement of position vacancy forms and monthly attendance records. Hires, provides supervision, maintain schedules and prepares payroll documents
for all student work-study and budget staff. Processes all international student
check-in documents, employment information, social security application forms,
and prepares drafts and letters on a daily basis on behalf of the campus. Interacts
with other departments to coordinate international student mailings to home,
email and residence halls. Represents the department at committee meetings,
campus-wide events and programs. Weekend and evening hours as needed and

Position Description & Responsibilities: General academic advisement and registration of a caseload of new and continuing students, responsible for advisement of undergraduate students during evening hours of the AAC (Tuesday and Wednesday until 6:30pm) assist with course selections and registration, assist students in the development of meaningful and educational plans and academic major selection which are compatible with their life goals. Qualifications: To perform this position successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelors degree required, masters degree strongly preferred in a discipline deemed appropriate by AAC Management. Communications and Outreach Associate
Responsibilities: This position will focus on strategies to enhance the organization’s public image, with a particular focus on producing external and internal print and online materials such as newsletters, web copy, brochures, press releases, annual reports, and presentations.
