The
Cooperative Education program at C.W. Post is a voluntary job
placement program that integrates classroom studies with predominantly
paid, productive, real-life work experience in a related field.
At C.W. Post, students can get the best of both worlds -- a high
quality academic degree and an impressive resume of practical
work experience. Click here for more extensive
information on the C.W. Post Co-op Program or contact the
PEP office at 516.299.2251 to meet with a Co-op Coordinator to
discuss your next co-op position.
Internships

Internship
and Cooperative Education are terms that are sometimes
used interchangabley. In practice, co-ops and internships are
very similar but the two have some technical differences. At C.W.
Post, internships are usually completed for college credit through
an academic department, are a part of the college curriculum,
and are generally non-paid; co-ops are voluntary work experiences,
generally non-credit and, in most cases, paid experiences. At
Post, you can begin working co-op experiences as early as your
sophomore year (after minor prerequisites
are met) while academic internships are usually reserved for your
junior or senior year.
Work
Study Back

Work
study aid is money a student must earn by working a part-time
job at the college or university the student is attending. Funds
for the wages a work-study student earns come from the Federal
Work Study Program. At C.W. Post, students apply for work-study
monies through Financial
Assistance during the processing of their finacial aid package.
If work study is awarded, the student will be placed in an on-campus
job by the PEP Office. For more extensive information on Work
Study click here.
