London Johnson, Senior Career Counselor, has been with Professional
Experience and Career Planning on the C.W.
Post Campus of Long
Island University since 1999. Prior to that,
she held various positions within the music industry,
including spending 3 years at Sony Music Entertainment.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Career Development
from the College
of New Rochelle and a Bachelor of Science degree
in Psychology from St.
John's University. In her work at the PEP office,
she counsels students, alumni and community members
regarding all aspects of career development and job
search. In addition, she creates and facilitates workshops
for local public libraries on matters including resume
preparation, interview skills and career decision-making.
Ironically, the career interest inventory she took in
high school told her that she should become a DJ. She
is also a professional singer/songwriter. |

Jason
Cascone is the Senior Associate Director of Career Development at Professional
Experience and Career Planning on the C.W.
Post Campus of Long
Island University and has worked there since 1998.
In the PEP office he is a career counselor; manages the
recruitment programs, including the annual career fair;
and presents career workshops for the campus community, while managing both the PEP website and the so, you wanna job... website.
He has developed and presented workshops on campus on what to do with a major, networking, and career assessment, to name a few. He also teaches a distance learning course for Au Pairs looking for career direction before returning to their
home countries. He has appeared numerous times on a career
information panel at the annual Newsday Career Fair in
the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, and has composed a career development course for the continuing education program of a Long Island school district. His varied work
history in many different workplace environments gives
him a unique perspective on the value of collecting skill
sets and applying them to one's career goals. His approach to career counseling
is combined with professional work in mental health counseling
to provide a holistic approach to work and life. He earned
his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern
University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology
from the University
of Florida. He has a special membership in the National Career Development Association as a Master Career Development Professional. Jason was also a college
fencer and is a Reiki Master. |
