| October 16, 2001 -- C.W. Post Pioneer running back Ian Smart
currently leads all of college football in the following categories:
rushing yards (1,531), rushing yards per game (218.7), yards
per gain (9.2) and scoring (120 points). The junior established
a new school record for single-game rushing yards with 282 yards
in the 55-7 Homecoming victory over Merrimack on October 13,
while his season total of 1,531 also broke another C.W. Post
mark of 1,525, set by Joe Brusca in 1994.
