| June 12, 2002 - David Pinter, president and chief executive officer
of Zwicker Electric Company, will be honored at the fifth annual William
Zeckendorf Sr. Benefit on Thursday, June 13, at the 200 Fifth Club
in Manhattan.
The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, N.Y.
bestows the award annually on someone who embodies the values of
entrepreneurship and achievement exemplified by the late William
Zeckendorf, Sr., a developer, real estate planner and long-time
member of the Long Island University Board of Trustees. He was instrumental
in securing the purchase of the Marjorie Merriweather Post estate,
which is now the C.W. Post Campus.
Mr. Pinter graduated from C.W. Post in 1972 with a bachelor's degree
in history. He then joined his father at Zwicker Electric Company,
one of New York's premier electrical contracting firms. Mr. Pinter
has been responsible for directing the electrical construction work
on such high profile buildings as Worldwide Plaza, 4 Times Square,
Metrotech, Foley Square Courthouse and the AOL Time Warner building
in Columbus Circle.
C.W. Post has benefited from Mr. Pinter's business acumen. As a
member of the Board of Trustees of Long Island University since
1992, he chairs the Buildings and Grounds Committee and serves as
a member of the Student Affairs Committee.
An amateur guitar player, Mr. Pinter takes time out of his busy
schedule to serve on the Board of Directors of the Concordia Chamber
Symphony and as a member of the Andrew Carnegie Society. He supports
UJA Federation, Covenant House, Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Center
for Jewish History and Israel Bonds. He also serves on the Board
of Trustees at Temple Shaaray Tefila, The City Parks Foundation
and is vice president of the New York City Chapter of the National
Electrical Contractors Association.
