| The new Miracle-Gro Greenhouse on the C.W. Post Campus of Long
Island University was dedicated at a ceremony on December 16, 2002.
The event was attended by benefactor Horace Hagedorn, founder and
former CEO of Miracle-Gro and his wife Amy, donors of the funds to
construct the facility.
The greenhouse is being used for instruction and research in botany,
biology and environmental science.
"The greenhouse symbolizes the beauty of life, the beauty
of flowers, the gift of wholesome food. There is really so much
we can learn from the plant life," said Hagedorn at the dedication.
