Brookville, NY Faced with a tough job market,
many professionals are seeking out continuing education courses
as a quick way to enhance their marketability or learn how to start
a new business. Beginning on January 27, 2004 the Department of
Continuing Education and Professional Studies at the C.W. Post Campus
of Long Island University will offer a series of new programs to
help professionals, business owners and career changers improve
their skills and meet their goals. Many of these programs can be
completed in as little as four weeks.
Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS)
will offer an intensive Breakfast Seminar Series and two new certificate
programs in "Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship"
and "Training and Organizational Development." Breakfast
seminars and certificate courses may be taken as complete programs
or as individual courses. The Breakfast Series includes seminars
in project management, human resources management, supervisory skills
and business writing. "Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship"
will provide instruction in how to start and manage a small business,
the use of technology and e-commerce, and the ins and outs of marketing
and financial planning. Students in the "Training and Organizational
Development" series will have the opportunity to study principles
and techniques of effective employee training, as well as the necessary
skills for professional facilitation and presentation delivery.
