Hoops, CPA, Named to Advisory Board
of the C.W. Post School of Professional Accountancy
Jeffrey R. Hoops, CPA, has been named to the Advisory Board of
the School of Professional Accountancy in the College of Management
at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville.
Hoops is a partner with Ernst & Young and is currently president
of the 30,000 member New York State Society of CPA's, the largest
and oldest state accounting organization. He has been a member of
the NYSSCPA since 1976 and has held numerous leadership positions
including chairman of its Tax Division Oversight Committee and President
of its Nassau Chapter. In addition, Hoops is a member of the governing
Council of the American Institute of CPAs and a member of its Tax
Executive Committee.
A resident of Rockville Centre, Hoops received a bachelor of business
administration in public accounting from Hofstra University and
a master of science in taxation from the C.W. Post Campus of Long
Island University, where he also taught graduate classes in taxation
in the early 1980s. He joined Ernst & Young (then Ernst &
Ernst) in 1974, transferred to the firms national tax department
in 1981 and in 1983 moved to its New York City office, where he
was admitted as a partner in 1984.

Dr. Lawrence Kalbers, Associate Dean of the College of Management
and Director of the School of Professional Accountancy. "His
professional experience and stature will make his advice and feedback
of great value in maintaining excellence in all of our programs."
The C.W. Post School of Professional Accountancy, which is celebrating
its 30th Anniversary, was the first autonomous school
of professional accountancy established in the United States. It
offers a bachelor of science in accountancy, a master of science
in accountancy, and a master of science in taxation. The School
also offers continuing education courses to CPAs through its Tax
and Accounting Institute.
C.W. Post is one of six campuses of Long Island University, the
seventh largest private university in the United States. Serving
a population of 12,000 full- and-part time students, the campus
