The C.W. Post Orchestra to Perform
"Orchestral Music Influenced by Literature and Poetry"
at Tilles Center on Monday, April 7 at 8 p.m.
March 18, 2002 The C.W. Post Orchestra will present its
spring concert on Monday, April 7, 2003 at Tilles Center for the
Performing Arts at 8 p.m. The focus of the concert is "Orchestral
Music Influenced by Literature and Poetry." Tickets, which
are $6 for general admission and $4 for students & seniors,
may be purchased the evening of the performance at Tilles Center.
The C.W. Post Orchestra, conducted by Susan Deaver, will perform
Tchaikovskys "Romeo & Juliet Overture," Prokofievs
"Lt. Kijé Suite," Bernsteins "Candide
Overture" and Rossinis "William Tell Overture."
Soprano Andrea Arias, winner of the 2002 C.W. Post Concerto Competition,
will perform Giacomo Puccinis "O Mio Babbino Caro"
from "Gianni Schicchi" and "Donde lieta usci"
from "La Boheme."
The C.W. Post Chamber Orchestra will perform an aria from Johann
Sebastian Bachs "Cantata 209" and a chamber orchestra
piece by New York based composer Edward Green entitled "Five
Pieces from Music for Shakespeare."
