Huntington Resident Keith Turner
Recognized
with C.W. Post Distinguished Alumni Award
May 5, 2003 - Most people watch television; a select
few actually influence what others see. Keith G. Turner, president
of sales and marketing for the NBC Television Network, is one of
those elite few.
Turner began his career as a media planner in 1976
at Grey Advertising, where he handled accounts for Warner Bros.,
American Motors and Canon. From 1980 to 1982, he served as vice
president and media director at the company, and was responsible
for network television buying. In 1982, he became an account executive
in CBS-TVs network sports division, later moving to NBC-TV
and becoming an account executive for primetime network sales. He
was promoted to vice president of NBCs sports sales division
in 1990 and rose through the ranks to his current position, where
he has executive responsibility for all areas of NBC-TV sales. Turner
oversees the networks sales development and marketing department,
which is responsible for NBC Connect, a highly successful cross-media
sales and marketing initiative.
In recognition of his great success, the C.W. Post
Campus of Long Island University in Brookville will honor him with
a Distinguished Alumni Award at its 45th annual commencement ceremonies
on May 11, 2003. Turner, a resident of Huntington, graduated from
C.W. Post in 1976 with a bachelor of science degree in business
management.
