WCWP to Broadcast Jazz Concert Series Live from Glen Cove

May 29, 2003 — WCWP/88.1 FM, the radio station of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, will be the exclusive broadcast partner of the sixth annual "Jazz in the Square" Friday night concert series presented by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District.

WCWP Radio personality Joe Manfredi will host the jazz series. This year the series will feature the sounds of Paul Kendall on July 11, Cynthia Scott on July 18 and the Kit McClure Band on July 25. The performances will be broadcast live from the Glen Cove Village Square over WCWP/88.1 FM from 7 to 10 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public.

WCWP/88.1 FM is a non-commercial, educational FM station located in the Benjamin and Elizabeth Abrams Communications Center on the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville. In addition to jazz programming from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, the station features alternative, metal, urban, and classic rock/blues programming. As a National Public Radio affiliate, WCWP also airs "Morning Edition" from 5 to 9 a.m., "Marketplace" Monday through Friday evenings, and "Car Talk" on Saturday mornings. The station also broadcasts locally produced community service, music and sports programming.
