Cheryl A. Baldwin Appointed Executive
Director of
Continuing Education & Professional Studies
August 28, 2003 - The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island
University in Brookville, N.Y., has appointed Cheryl A. Baldwin
as Executive Director of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
Her extensive experience includes former leadership positions at
the New York University Marketing & Management Institute, the
American Management Association, the Center for Employment and Training
& Miracle Makers Inc.
Most recently, Baldwin spent a year in Kenya, East
Africa working as an administrator for a childrens school.
She received her bachelors degree from Howard University and
earned her master's degree in administration from Columbia University.
"We are very happy to welcome such a competent
individual as Cheryl Baldwin to head C.W. Posts Continuing
Education and Professional Studies department," said Dr. Joseph
Shenker, provost of the campus. "Her broad-based experience
and enthusiasm will help project the school into its next exciting
phase."
In her new position, Baldwin will be responsible for
overseeing all aspects of the Continuing Education and Professional
Studies (CEPS) program. CEPS offers day, evening and weekend programs
to adults looking for career advancement, professional training
and personal enrichment. The division is home to several notable
programs in Business, Computer Technology, Virtual Studies, Financial
Services, Health & Public Services, Legal Studies, Real Estate,
and Personal Enrichment as well as the renowned Hutton House Lecture
series. CEPSs Corporate Training Program offers customized
on-site training at companies on Long Island and in the New York
metropolitan area. More than 3,000 students are currently enrolled
in certificate programs, non-credit courses, and workshops designed
to help them train for a new profession, advance in their chosen
field, or simply to fulfill a personal interest. CEPS classes and
workshops are offered at convenient times, many courses can be taken
online, and registration can be done by phone or fax.
