School of Professional Accountancy Celebrates 30th
The School of Professional Accountancy, which is part of the C.W. Post College of Management, celebrated its 30th birthday at a commemoration on September 18, 2004. The event was dedicated to the school's founding dean, Charles H. Zwicker who was an innovator in tax and accounting education.
Professor Zwicker established the first autonomous school of accountancy in the United States at C.W. Post. He also created the Tax and Accounting Institute, which continues to offer high quality continuing professional education to CPAs. Dean Zwicker touched the lives of thousands of students during the course of his teaching career. His love for and dedication to C.W. Post was strong through his last days and was demonstrated through his participation on the College of Management Executive Board of Advisors, the School of Professional Accountancy Advisory Board, and as the co-chair of the Lorber Hall Fundraising Campaign.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Charles H. Zwicker Commitment to Excellence Fund and will be used to support the School through scholarships for accounting students, purchases of new and updated technology and funding for faculty research and travel to conferences.
