"KeySpans Role on Long
Island and Its Plans for the Future"
Robert J. Fani, President and COO of KeySpan Corporation,
to speak at the C.W. Post Campus March 26
In the next meeting of the Newsmakers Breakfast Series,
hosted by the College of Management at the C.W. Post Campus of Long
Island University, Robert J. Fani, President and Chief Operating
Officer of KeySpan Corporation, will discuss "KeySpans
Role on Long Island and Its Plans for the Future." The event
will take place on Friday, March 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. in the campuss
Great Hall/Administration Building.
Fani assumed the role of President and COO of KeySpan
on October 1, 2003.
"Bob Fani has distinguished himself across a
spectrum of leadership roles at KeySpan over the last 27 years,"
said Robert B. Catell, KeySpan Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,
at the time of the appointment. "He brings leadership and strong
management skills to the day-to-day execution of our near and long-term
strategies."
KeySpan (NYSE:KSE) is the largest distributor of natural
gas in the Northeast United States, with 2.5 million gas customers
in New York City, Long Island and New England and more than 13,000
employees. KeySpan is also the largest investor-owned electric generator
in New York State. The corporation owns and operates generating
plants on Long Island and New York City with total capacity of more
than 6,400 megawatts, and serves approximately 1.1 million electric
customers through a management service agreement with the Long Island
Power Authority.
Fani was part of a KeySpan Corporate Team recognized
by the Department of Energy for its innovation and contribution
to our nation's energy-efficient programs. In addition, he has been
recognized nationally as an environmentalist and received a citation
from the White House for his contributions to Clean Air Programs.
In 1993, Crain's New York Business named Mr. Fani one of its "40
Under 40 Up and Coming Executives." He is also a member of
International Who's Who of Professionals. He has been inducted into
the American Gas Association Residential Hall of Honor and the Industrial
and Commercial Hall of Flame. In addition, Fani has a distinguished
record of community service and has served as a trustee for organizations
including the YMCA, the Childrens Museum, Snug Harbor Cultural
Center, City College of NY, Neighborhood Housing Services and other
organizations throughout NYC and Long Island.
The Newsmakers Breakfast Series is sponsored by C.W.
Posts Center for Management Analysis, Long Island Womens
Institute and College of Management Alumni Chapter. The C.W. Post
Campus is located at 720 Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) in Brookville.
Admission to the Newsmakers Breakfast Series is $20 and includes
