C.W. Post Public Administration Program Earns Prestigious Reaccreditation
for MPA Program for Fourth Consecutive Time

September 20, 2004 - Brookville, NY-- The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville recently obtained reaccreditation from the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). The C.W. Post program is the only institution on Long Island to receive this prominent endorsement.

"This is a very prestigious accreditation that reaffirms the value of our program,” said Dr. Matthew C. Cordaro, Chair of the Department of Health Care & Public Administration. “The fact that it meets the strict standards of NASPAA ensures that our curriculum provides the highest quality education available to our students.” Schools are evaluated every seven years. This is the fourth consecutive time that the program at C.W. Post has been reaccredited.

NASPAA serves as an international resource for the promotion of excellence in education and training for public service and develops standards for educational programs through its Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation.

The 48-credit M.P.A. prepares students for a wide range of careers in public sector management, health care, and the administration of non-profit organizations. It also provides opportunities for those already employed in public service and health care to improve their administrative skills, pursue a specific area of interest and prepare for increasing levels of responsibility and management.

The Department of Health Care and Public Administration is part of theC.W. Post School of Public Service which boasts one of the country’s most comprehensive degree programs. The School of Public Service prepares students for careers in government, criminal justice, public administration, health care and human services.
