C.W. Post Continuing Education & Professional Studies Opens New Facilities
New classrooms, new classes, more parking at easy-to-reach location

January 19, 2005 - Easy access and expanded classroom space highlight the new headquarters of the Continuing Education & Professional Studies Department at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.

Administrative offices, three new classrooms and a reception area are scheduled to open Feb. 1 in the Bank of New York Building at 57 Northern Boulevard in Greenvale. Some classes will continue to be held at the C.W. Post Campus, less than a mile away on Northern Boulevard.

"This new location will be convenient for the busy adult students who are looking to advance their careers, increase their marketability or explore a new interest," said Cheryl Baldwin, executive director of Continuing Education & Professional Studies. "Whether they're earning a project management certificate or learning about 19th century European paintings, they will find instruction that fits their schedule."

New offerings for spring 2005 include "Capacitando A Los Supervisors Nuevos," a half-day Breakfast Series seminar for Spanish-speaking individuals training to become supervisors; "Secrets of Selling at Trade Shows," a seminar on the potential and the pitfalls of trade shows; "Creative Scrapbooking," a course on organizing and preserving your family's memories; and "Basic Acting - It's Never Too Late to Start," taught by television, film and stage actor William J. McKay.

The new address of the Continuing Education and Professional Studies department is 57 Northern Boulevard, Greenvale, N.Y. However, the mailing address for the office remains 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, N.Y. 11548-1300.

CEPS offers day and evening programs for adults seeking career advancement, professional training and personal enrichment. The division is home to several notable programs in Business, Computer Technology, Distance Learning, Financial Services, Health Studies, Legal Studies, Real Estate, and Personal Enrichment as well as the renowned Hutton House Lecture series. About 4,000 students are currently enrolled in certificate programs, non-credit courses, and workshops designed to help them train for a new profession, advance in their chosen field, or simply to fulfill a personal interest.
