Tom Emberley Named Sports
Information Director at C.W. Post

29, 2005 - Thomas Emberley, a native of Fitchburg, Massachusetts,
has been appointed Sports Information Director of the C.W. Post
Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York, effective
August 15, 2005. Emberley will oversee public relations activities
for each of C.W. Post's 17 Division II sports, which include baseball,
basketball, cross country, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer,
softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
He will coordinate the local, state and national
media efforts for the C.W. Post Athletic Department and the 400
athletes who participate in Pioneer sports. In addition to serving
as the central media contact for game-day operations at home events,
Emberley will produce comprehensive team media guides, write feature
stories and press releases and manage the athletic department web
site.
Emberley comes to C.W. Post from the U.S. Merchant
Marine Academy in Kings Point, where he was director of athletic
communications. At Kings Point, he maintained statistics and prepared
publications for 23 NCAA Division III sports and managed the athletic
department’s web site. Prior to that, Emberley was the assistant
director of athletic communications at La Salle University in Philadelphia,
a Division I-AA program. He has also worked as a sports information
intern at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Emberley received a bachelor of science in business
administration (sports management) from Western New England College
in May 2001.
