Health Professions Week at C.W. Post
The C.W. Post School of Health Professions and Nursing observed Health Professions Week on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005.
In celebration of November as a harvest month, the mascot for the event was an apple nicknamed “Granny Smith.” The Radiologic Technology Department displayed X-Rays, a CT Scan and an MRI of “Granny.” The program featured microscope slides of apple and humancells and a chemical analysis of apple cider. C.W. Post Professor Dr. Seetha Tamma demonstrated the work of the Clinical Laboratory Science Department with an analysis of a DNA sample. The Health Information Management Department showed how information of this nature is included in patients’ medical records. The Nutrition Department presented information on healthy eating styles and how it affects disease management.
The School of Health Professions and Nursing is a regional leader in preparing students for many rewarding careers in crucial fields of health care.The Health Professions Week event served as a fine showcase of these offerings.
