Auditions for 24th
Annual C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival
February 24, 2005 Auditions for the 24th annual C.W. Post
Chamber Music Festival at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University
will begin on Sunday, March 20. Auditions are open to young professionals,
pre-formed chamber music groups, teachers, college students, high
school students and talented young students.
Auditions will be held by appointment at the C.W. Post Campus Fine
Arts Center on Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) in Brookville.
The C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival, a three-week intensive session
scheduled for July 11 through July 29 at C.W. Post, will feature
The Pierrot Consort, the faculty ensemble-in-residence at Long Island
University, and guest artists including Lawrence Dutton from the
Emerson Quartet.
The Festivals primary focus is on the study and performance
of standard instrumental chamber music, including string quartets
and mixed chamber ensembles. The Festival also includes a series
of instrumental and performance master classes, a concerto competition,
chamber orchestras, and a series of faculty and participant concerts
at Hillwood Recital Hall and Tilles Center.
Approximately 120 participants will be selected for openings in
all strings, woodwinds, brass and piano. In addition, a limited
number of conductors will be chosen for the Festivals conducting
program.
The Festival is available on a non-credit basis or students may
elect to earn undergraduate or graduate credits for participation.
High school students may earn college credit through the High School
Enrichment Program. The non-refundable application/audition fee
is $30. Festival fees and tuition vary with scheduled participation
and programs within the three-week Festival. Scholarships, fellowships
and Tilles Center Scholar Awards will be available.

All auditions will be held at the C.W. Post Fine Arts Center except
where noted. Additional dates will be
announced for early June.
