"What’s Killing Our Kids?" Conference At C.W. Post

On Friday, March 11, 2005, the Long Island Professional & Parent Education Network (LIPEN) and 21st Century Save Our Kids Task Force sponsored a conference on gang prevention at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York.

Welcoming remarks from organization and government officials and a keynote address by Retired Suffolk County Detective Wes Daily, president of the East Coast Gang Investigators (ECGIA), were followed by workshops that addressed many issues pertaining to gang and childhood violence.

The conference was attended by parents, educators and counselors and was co-sponsored by the C.W. Post Campus; SCOPE (Suffolk County Organization for the Promotion of Education) Education Services; Town of Islip NAACP; the Nassau County Youth Board; and the Suffolk County Youth Bureau.
