| C.W. Post Launches New
Two-Day GMAT Prep Course
Fast, economical program offers alternative to
costly, time-consuming courses
June 15, 2005 - College graduates planning to take the GMAT, a
test required for Master of Business Administration degree applicants,
now have a more efficient and economical alternative to lengthy
and costly review courses. The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University
in Brookville is launching a unique two-day prep program which provides
quality instruction in a fraction of the time and cost of commercial
vendors.
Three sessions of the two-day course are scheduled for July 9 &
16, August 6 & 13, and September 24 & October 1, 2005 from
9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. “The cost is just $195, far below the
$1,000 to $2,000 price tags of most GMAT prep courses,” according
to Cheryl Baldwin, Executive Director of Continuing Education and
Professional Studies at C.W. Post. The schedule—two consecutive
Saturdays—is more efficient than the two-month format offered
by other course providers. Course participants who register in the
C.W. Post M.B.A. program may qualify for a partial tuition rebate.
The course offers a professionally guided study regimen that includes
test-taking strategies and targeted instruction to bolster math,
verbal and critical-thinking skills. It is specifically designed
for students who have difficulty taking standardized tests, or who
have been out of school for a while, as well as for those who did
not major in business as an undergraduate.
“Some prospective students who want to earn an M.B.A. are
apprehensive when they learn they have to take the GMAT as an entrance
requirement,” says M.B.A Director Salvatore Cordo. “We
have found that many test-anxious students do very well in their
M.B.A. studies, so we’ve designed this program in concert
with the Department of Continuing Education and Professional Studies
to address this need. This course is designed to reduce those anxieties,
help students score well on the test and refresh them in skills
they’ll use in their M.B.A. courses – in a format, schedule
and a cost that fits their lives.”
C.W. Post business programs are accredited by the prestigious AACSB
International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business – a distinction shared by only those business
schools in the world that meet the most demanding standards of academic
and teaching excellence.
To serve the diverse interests and busy schedules of its students,
C.W. Post's College of Management offers a flexible, broad range
of programs to help its students advance their careers. These programs,
generally 12 to 16 courses, include the traditional Campus M.B.A.
with evening and Saturday courses, a Saturday M.B.A., and a joint
J.D./M.B.A. with Touro Law Center. A popular Accelerated International
M.B.A. program enables students to complete their degrees in just
one year while living and studying at C.W. Post, London and Paris.
Campus M.B.A. students can study full- or part-time. The Saturday
M.B.A. program has classes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and students
can earn their degree in 18 to 22 months.
