C.W. Post to Host Region's Largest Adoption Conference November 19

Brookville, N.Y. -- From the basics of adopting to the complexities of raising adopted children, the 26th annual conference of the Adoptive Parents Committee Inc. will present comprehensive information for prospective and current adoptive parents at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University on Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The conference – “Circle of Love, Circle of Life” – is the largest one-day adoption conference in the northeast. Dr. Jane Aronson, the New York-based, internationally renowned pediatrician and adoption specialist, will serve as keynote speaker. In all, more than 80 adoption experts will present 100 workshops and many exhibits focusing on all aspects of adoption. The founder of the Worldwide Orphans Federation, Dr. Aronson has evaluated and treated more than 4,000 children, including actress Angelina Jolie’s daughter Zahara.

“The information presented at the conference is comprehensive, addressing current issues of interest to those considering adoption, those waiting to bring their children home, adoptive parents and the rapidly growing numbers of single, gay and lesbian people forming families through adoption,” said Patricia Polk, co-president of the Adoptive Parents Committee’s Long Island Chapter.
