Former Ambassador Buallay served as Bahrain’s permanent representative to the United Nations from 1994 to 2004. In this capacity, he served on the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council, and was vice president of the Council for Humanitarian Affairs in 2002. The lecture series, held Oct. 30, 31 and Nov. 1, 2006, in the Winnick Student Center, was presented by the C.W. Post Student Affairs-Faculty Partnership Initiative Committee and co-sponsored by the Long Island University Office of Academic Affairs, The Hutton House Lectures, The Khalil A. Nasir Memorial Fund and the Political Science/International Studies Association.
