C.W. Post Alumnus Wins Fifth Emmy Award

Joshua Kuvin, a producer/editor for "Dateline NBC" and 1986 graduate of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, was part of a team that won an Emmy Award for Business and Financial Reporting for "Bitter Pills," a segment on "Dateline NBC."

The piece, which documented how counterfeit prescription drugs are invading America's mainstream medicine supply and threatening the public health and the nation's pharmaceutical industry, won in the category, Outstanding Investigative Reporting of a Business News Story - News Magazines and Long Form. The 4th Annual Emmy Awards for Business & Financial Reporting were held on December 7, 2006 in Manhattan.

This is Kuvin's fifth Emmy Award. Past awards and recognitions include an Edward R. Murrow Award, a National Headliner Award, a National Press Club Award, an RFK Award, an OverSeas Press Club Award, and a Polk Award.  He has received Emmy Award recognition for his editing during 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan, in addition to the Atlanta and Sydney Olympic Games.

Kuvin graduated from C.W. Post with a major in communications and a minor in film and interned at "20/20" while earning his degree.
