Art Professor Donna Tuman Wins Academic Awards

February 10, 2006 - Dr. Donna Tuman, Chair of the Art Department at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, was recently recognized for her important achievements in the field of arts education. Dr. Tuman recently received two prestigious academic awards, the Art Supervisors Association Award for Leadership and the 2006 New York State Art Teachers Association Special Citation for A Significant Contribution to the Visual Arts. She was presented with these awards in November 2005 at the NYSATA and ASA annual conferences. 

As an art education advocate, Dr. Tuman has initiated numerous scholarly projects promoting the visual arts as an academic domain of learning.
