sea change. Noun.  a marked change : Transformation

Sea Change is a collection of ten short plays that all center on personal relationships. Stories and exchanges are brief, but the characters each emerge having learned something-whether the lesson is great or small. The title refers both to what occurs with the characters in the play, and what occurred with the actors during the rehearsal process, and, ultimately through their entire freshman year. The First Year Showcase presents an opportunity for the freshmen acting students to take the training they have received during both the fall and spring semesters and apply it to production.

Benjamin Moore, director of Sea Change is also an Adjunct Professor of Acting, Voice & Speech. A New York based director, actor, and teacher, Benjamin is pleased to be directing his second freshman showcase at Post. Educated at the Moscow Art Theatre, he has worked with various theatre companies and schools across the United States and Europe including Actors’ Theatre of Louisville, Three Rivers Shakespeare Company, The Vakhtangov and Pushkin theatres in Moscow, Off-Broadway with Sasha Marin (among many others), American Studio Theatre, the Pittsburg Symphony with Loren Maazel, and is a resident member of Apollo Performing Arts Training, conducts acting and vocal workshop series both here and abroad, and has taught at various local universities including C.W. Post, Hofstra, and Stony Brook. Benjamin is a member of SSDC.

Tickets for Sea Change are $10 for the general public, and $5 for students and seniors, general admission seating.
